Hi Katherine, based on the information you provided, I’m assuming that you last period was around the 4th of January? If your period is late consider if you have had any stressors, illnesses, medications, etc for the last month which can affect your period. If not and your are indeed 17 days late I would recommend waiting a week and taking another, if you still get a negative, call in to your doctor and see what they recommend.

Hi I took a contraceptive just 1 pack and I stop i finish only for 21 days. on Dec 21 I got my period and I had unprotected sex on dec 25, Jan 1 , 2 and 9 we used pull out method. I was expecting my period on Jan 21 but it didn’t come I used to be late for 2 to 4 days and now I’m 2 weeks late and 26 days for my last intercourse. I took a test for 7 times it’s all negative. My breast is paining, cramps, and lower back pain but it’s all occasionally not everyday. I feel normal but I’m confused if I’m pregnant or just affect of the pill I took for 21 days. Thank you.
Hello Ami, this could be as a result of the pill, if you are constantly testing for pregnancy and the tests return as negative then the pill might be responsible for the change in your cycle.

It’s quite possible that you could be pregnant. Your fertile days were the 9th to the 13th. So while you were outside the window of fertility, sperm can live up to 5 days in the vagina. So if you don’t get your period within the next week, I would take a pregnancy test. That’s the only way to be sure if you are safe.
