I have been spotting for the past 3 months. I would either spot for a few days before my period or couple days after. I went to my gynecologist and was told it’s normal. She did a papsmir and did a blood test for thyroid and other STDs. Although I tested negative for stds , hepatitis B and my papsmir test was normal,I am worried about this Brownish discharge.

It’s quite possible that for your it’s normal and is a sign that you are ovulating depending on when you are spotting. It could also be anything from dryness or irritation as well. Are you stressed, change in habits such as working out or eating, maybe a change in birth control methods? Our bodies are relatively sensitive and they could be the reason. However if you have had all the necessary checks, it might be fine to just consider it your normal at this point. But if you are concerned, get a second opinion, maybe an ultrasound to determine if there is anything else going on inside.
Hi there we are ttc but I have a very irregular cycle varying from 38-46 days. We are using ovulation tests, cervical mucus checks the works. I have gotten a + read on the LH test and have started trying once a day but I’m on day 6 of + ovulation and started bleeding very heavily. Its about 11days before my period is supposed to start. What do you suggest we do? We are very confused

Because you have irregular cycles, it’s quite possible that you are experiencing your period, even though you say it’s 11 days before it’s supposed to start, you also state that they are irregular. There could also be other reasons such as miscarriage (I hate to bring that up) but if you are having cramping, passing clots, back pain those could be signs of that. Or again, it could just be your period. However if you know that you aren’t yet pregnant I would consider either making a call to the doctor just to discuss. Especially if that’s not a normal occurrence for you.
I had my period from 09-13 Jan 2018. Two days after my period ended, I started spotting again. A week later I am now bleeding everyday and have severe cramping and even vomitted today. This has never happend to me before. I dont spot after or before my period. I generally have very bad periods with severe cramps, so having these cramps and bleeding when I’m not on my period, makes me very worried. Please advise. Thank You

I am experiencing what feels like period pains but my period finished 10 days ago. These pains have continued all day, and i have had a little spotting (pinkish color) twice in 24 hours. I have never experienced this before. Is this ovulation? Im not sure and I cant go to a doctor until a weeks time.

I had sex in November and later that month I had spotting for three days then in December I didn’t get my period at all. This month I had heavy clear discharge the first week, then cramping for the second week with brown discharge for 2-4 days and now two days later I got my period with heavy flow.

I had a hysteroscopy on Jan. 8th. removing two small polyps. I then tested positive (two days in a row) with OPK.
My husband and I had sex on both days of positive ovulation including 1 day before positive test.
I then started experiencing ovulation pain ( on day two of positive opk) and some light bleeding and some spotting.
Ive never had ovulation bleeding. Could the bleeding be from something the hysteroscopy brought on?
Seems odd I would have bleeding 1 week after the procedure.
We have been ttc for almost a year now. Im hoping its
ovulation bleeding, but why would that happen now? (coincidently after procedure)

Congratulations on the marriage. As for a potential miscarriage, her doctor would be the one to let her know that after doing an exam. It could just be a heavy period. If concerned, I would stress to make an appointment with her OB/GYN.

Hi Philip. She could have ovulated earlier or later. How are you tracking the ovulation? If she has her period is it lighter than usual, just spotting, or is it a regular period? If it’s lighter it could indeed be implantation bleeding which generally comes around the same time as a regular period, therefore being mistaken for one as well. I would recommend waiting a week after her expected period start date and take a pregnancy test and if not pregnant keep trying. Maybe invest in ovulation tests to be absolutely sure as to when she will be ovulation for the best chance of getting pregnant. Good luck!

I would first recommend getting an app to track your periods or mark it on a calander. It makes knowing how long your cycle is so much easier. Also for January, your peak fertile days would be January 19th to January 23rd. For next month, assuming that you are on a 28 day cycle your peak fertile days would be February 16th to the 20th, assuming you get your period around the 6th of the month. You can check your fertile days at the link below and make the best determination for when to get pregnant. You could also try to get ovulation tests from the drug store (dollar store are fine) to see when you are ovulating. And have sex whenever you want, there is no time when you shouldn’t, and try not to stress about it.

I had my last period on 26 th dec lasted 8 days. 6 days after period ended I was having severe cramping to the lower stomach. On 10th jan 9 days after period ended started spotting brown as the days have past so has the colour next day pinkish brown then pink now more of a red colour today is now day 4 what can this be. Hello Reine, if you had protected sex then you should not be pregnant. If you have a missed period you can test for pregnancy 7 days after.
